MERMAID BEACH

The coastal suburb of Mermaid Beach is home to the prime stretch of real estate known as 'Millionaires Row' on Hedges Avenue.

This relaxed piece of golden coastline is popular with swimmers and surfers alike and is bordered to the east by the Pacific Ocean and to the west by the canals of adjacent Mermaid Waters.

Mermaid Beach was named after the cutter HMS Mermaid on which the explorer John Oxley sailed in 1823 when he discovered the nearby Tweed and Brisbane rivers.
